“What sort of people do you train – anyone famous?”
It’s the most difficult question to answer. There is no such thing as a typical client. Certainly not the average cabbie’s idea of the sort of person who receives regular media training – the politicians and personalities they see on the box every day. This month we take officers from British Transport Police through their paces: dealing with everything from community policing to challenging crises which can cripple the transport system.
And just last week…water voles in the Cairngorms. You wouldn’t think that water voles needed a high media profile –and you’d be wrong. It turns out they are one of the most endangered species in Europe, the population having been reduced by 95% in the last ten years since some genius introduced American Mink into the Cairngorms.
And one day after our training, BBC Television called with a proposal to film a report on…you guessed it water voles in the Cairngorms! There’s no predicting media opportunities, other than the sure and certain knowledge that nobody (or animal) is immune from the media onslaught.
