Harriet Harman makes a good PR move

Posted on 18 April 2008 by pmurricane in Latest Media Training News

Harriet HarmanHarriet Harman of the Labour party has hired a new press advisor.

Lyn Bryan will be working for the party’s deputy leader and is moving from press office at the Department for Food and Rural Affairs.

She has also worked as press secretary to former environment secretary Margaret Beckett and Foreign Secretary David Miliband.

Alan Schofield, former political correspondent at The Sunday Times has said that Harriet needs to raise her profile as people do not have a proper understanding of what she’s all about.

With this in mind, perhaps employing the expertise of Bryan will be a good move for Harman.
Anna Healy, partner of Labour MP John Cruddas, has been previously employed by Harman as a special advisor on press. It is unclear whether Healy is still working for Harman.
