Oh Dear Delia!

Posted on 8 April 2008 by pmurricane in Latest Media Training News

Delia SmithDelia Smith has been accused of suggesting meals with too much salt content.

In her latest recipe book How to Cheat at Cooking she suggests adding ingredients to ready-made meals rather than starting from scratch.

Unfortunately, ready-made meals commonly contain high fat and salt levels and therefore it appears Delia Smith is suggesting foods with over the daily recommended salt intake in one meal.

seems obvious the reason Delia Smith has released these cooking ideas is to help people prepare a tasty meal in a relatively short amount of time.

course it is hardly her fault that so many ready meals found in supermarkets are so full of salt and fat.

ia Smith has an excellent reputation with the public, and it doesn’t seem possible that this incident will tarnish that in a major way.

t Media Mentor would suggest is a statement from Delia Smith with emphasis on what her intentions were behind the new recipes using ready-made meals and explain she will emphasise on her recipes that salt and fat intake is at the customer’s discretion. It is possible to find ready-made meals with a low fat and salt content, and perhaps that is something Delia Smith should perhaps look into.
